RE: [MW:24572] Preheating and PWHT for B31.3 CS mtls

If both thickness are under 25mm (1"), the PWHT can be exempted if you preheat to 95 C (or 200F) minimum.

 

If the weldolet exceeds 25mm, you need PWHT at 595 ~ 650C for 1hr/25mm.

Whats the thickness shall be done with PWHT CS material as per B31.3 latest edition .
Here the joint is  branch weld of high thickness weldolet with low thickness pipe.
