Re: [MW:24505] Impact Testing

Since impact test is standard requirement,  it should have been requested for in the purchase order. Purchasing without requesting impact testing is error, there no assurance the material can intended function in the service environment.

Dear All
Need your expert opinion on below query.

We are working on new project with Pressure Parts proposed to customer in ASME A335 P11 materials.

Since the ambient temperature is -48C, we need to perform the Impact Test for the same.

We think that the pipe material can be impact tested. Since this test is not a standard requirement for SA335 P11 pipes no guarantee is provided on the resulting minimum impact energy.

Any suggestions ????

Warm Regards
Praphulla
