Unless the customer has specifically asked for HIC testing for WPS/PQR,the same is not necessary in my opinion.Welded fitting manufacturer has to use HIC tested and certified plate with controlled %S-0.003 max and certainly use consumables duly SSC/HIC tested.What is needed to ensure is Hardness under cl 7.3.3 of NACE under 'welds'

Your query is too general. Can you specify what're the design requirements, wrt PH2S, PCO2, Temperature or any other design variable.

 

What's the material specification for pipes?
