Prior to decide the material will be applied as dished end, you have to check the  ductility (mechanical properties) such as the elongation. 
The higher the ductility (the higher elongation than minimum required) will allow the material to be shaped without crack

     Did any body know about the accessibility's of making a head from material SA516 GR.70 with thickness 8mm  . 
So did any body use this with out happening a crack? .
And if any body use it i hope to feed me by a procedure to follow it.
