No never n cant. Really u know mean of wps. wps is a written guidline to welder to how to do welding with ranger of variables. Suppose u take material A so u select all the parameters according to chemical , mechanical prop of material A.
But now u want to do welding of material B ie mechanical prop chemical prop are diff u have to guide ur welder on diff ranges diff parameter of variable so parameter n ranges are diff for both material A and B ie u have to make separate wps for both material.
Generally if prop are similar but name of material is diff than also u have to make diff wps.
But u are using diff process ie smaw welding for root saw for 1st layer gtaw for 2nd layer and so on for that u have to memtion that all on same wps for each material A and B
