For ASME Code works,
You need to check the acceptable adopted ASTM editions for the subject material, if its same then just review as per 2017 and sign off. If both ASTM editions are different, they you might have to do a thorough review of the both ASTM standards to ensure it is not affecting your material. You have to perform additional tests if required to meet new standards requirements if any. This review you have to document, as part of your system.
