Need your opinions and experience on below case.
Welders qualification as per ASME sec. ix for thickness qualification, can we use different thickness pipes as per Table QW-452.1 (b) Note (2) Two or more pipe test coupons with different weld metal thickness may be used to determine the weld metal thickness qualified and that thickness may be applied to production welds to the smallest diameter for which the welder is qualified in accordance with Table QW-452.3
One welder with below thickness qualifications.
Test A:
GTAW 4mm & SMAW 7.08mm qualified.
Test B:
GTAW 4mm & SMAW 22.98 mm qualified.
His qualification for GTAW 8mm? and SMAW Unlimited as per above note 2?
