Dear Jerry,

In case the WPS is qualified according to ASME section IX, no need to re qualify WPS.

Just make necessary changes in WPS and use to same PQR.

Subject: [MW:23014] requalified wps aws d1.1
Dear experts,
i have one question, and I need your help. Thanks first
My WPS is SAW, qualified for tube OD = 2000mm spiral welding pipe sheet pipe.

my WPS is for splicing 2 pipe ( that mean you connecting 2 pipe together )
the joint design is X bevel
and the layer step of welding is:
1. GMAW at root
2. cover out side SAW
3. cover inside SAW

so now if I want to change the step welding layer to:
1. GMAW at root
2. cover inside SAW
3.cover out side SAW
and all other parameters are not change

=>> so my question is . Do I need to requalify my WPS, OR I just rewrite WPS and keep the original PQR,no need to test PQR again

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
Jerry.
