[MW:23243] thumb rule to calculate amount of electrodes required.

suppose i am going to weld 16 mm thick plate with single v groove butt weld for a length of 1 meter,

then how much kg of weld or electrodes is required?

apart from general triangular rule, is there any thumb rule?
