While qualifying a SAW Procedure as per ASME Sec IX, With respect to QW-404.9, the Flux Trade Name is not an essential variable if the Flux Wire combination is Classified in ASME Sec II Part C (for A No 8, it is essential variable).
My queries are as follows
1. Who will perform the classification test?
2. While reviewing the PQR, does the vendor need to submit Classification records?
3. If a PQR is qualified with Flux Trade Name "X", can this PQR be used to support another WPS where Flux Trade Name "Y" is mentioned without classification? Please note, X & Y are from different manufacturer.
Please let me know your view. If you need further details, let me know.
Thanks and regards
Manas Ghosh
