Dear Swapnil,
In cross country pipeline project,we are using Downhill welding for mainline welding.But in case of repair we are using we using Root -Uphill & Other passes downhill welding.
As per API 1104 Direction of welding is a essential variable.
So it is necessary to qualification separately.
