Subject: [MW:18491] Welding on GI pipe

Dear Experts,

I have some query :-
1. Is it recommended / Safe to Weld  on ERW galvanized pipe (coated with zinc by hot dip process)?
2. If Yes, can it (pipe-pipe/pipe-fittings joints) be welded by SMAW process and by E-6013 or E-7018? Or, should be welded by GTAW only?
3. If No, what will be effect, if it welded by  E-6013 or E-7018 ?

Regards,

Ramen
