Re: [MW:18490] Repair procedure

Dear Raj,

Your Welding Engineer is right. As per code we don't need to qualify separate weld repair procedure, but at the same time please check client fabrication procedure. If it is mentioned separately to qualify the  procedure then follow-up TPI instructions.

Best Regards,

Dear Experts

Good evening.
In our company we have some repairs to be done and we dont have repair procedures separately.
But we only follow the NCR disposition made by welding engineer. Which has some instructions to follow ie removal of defect, same wps to be used as per production weld, nde to be done as per job scope.
So now our TPI is asking for separate repair procedure.

In my previous company we did have separate repair procedures. But here we dont have any.

Our welding engineer is telling us that our repair is before PWHT and therefore we dont need a repair procedure separately.

Is it a must that we Should really have repair procedure ( whether before or after PWHT)?

THANKS
raj
