Re: [MW:18291] Welder re-qualification.

Hi Manjunath ,

If you have qualified 40mm Plate of SA 516 Gr.70, the welder who welds the PQR also qualified, as per ASME-IX.  How many welders did U use for that PQR ? What are the welding process and what are the weldmetal deposit thk. for each process,

But the position you have mentioned is wrong, cannot be 6G for a plate .

Cheers ,
Saravanan

Dear experts.

       Can you give clearity.

6 months back we are established  wps of  welder for 6G of 40mmthk SA516 Gr70 plate i,e qualified for range of 80mm metal thickness.. but now i want requlify welder range of  50mm maximum metal thickenss  to be weld

Question 1) can i use same  wps to re qualify  same welder.
                2)can i use same PQR 25mmplate sothat i can  weld upto50mm thk.

  i have constraint  that i do not have 40mm 516 Gr70 plate, i have 25mm thk SA516 plate.

  Please  suggest best option.

Regards.
