[MW:18268] API 2b straightness interpretation

Dear All,

As per the below clause of API 2B

6.4 STRAIGHTNESS

The maximum allowable straightness deviation in any 10-

ft length shall be

1/8 in. For lengths over 10 ft, the maximum

deviation of the entire length may be computed by the following

formula, not to exceed

3/8 in. in any 40-ft length.

My question is , if we have 40 ft length then we have to consider both the point i.e is any 10 ft it shall be max. 1/8" and total length 3/8" or only the second part.

Please advise

Regards,

Vikas waghmare
