[MW:18272] weld interruption

Dear Friends,

What is the percentage of weld interruption in pipeline butt weld? and
Where is mention about weld interruption any code or standard or specification?

In my project (Gas Pipeline) they are mention following statement about weld interruption in the project specification.

Welding shall continue until at least 2 filler passes have been completed. In the event of stoppage due to weekends, holidays and inclement weather, incomplete welds other than restrained Tie-in welds may be left for more than 48 hours provided that at least two fill passes have been completed.

Lawrence.
