[MW:18239] Re: I need a clarification, is FCAW process comes under gas metal arc welding process?

Dear Pkm,

Generally, the FCAW process is considered different from that of the GMAW process. The FCAW has the electrode with flux powder filled in the tubular filler, whereas the GMAW has just the filler acting as the electrode. The FCAW is applied quite similar to GMAW, and also sometimes applied along with gas shielding. But the shielding gas is not mandatory requirement, as the case is in GMAW.

With all due regards,

Dileep Sankar
