Hi Mohammad,

You are correct to say that nothing is mentioned in API 5L spec but Arc burns are not acceptable by spec so i treat Burn through in similar manner,

Removal and rewelding would be required so you should have a Weld repair PQR to do the repairs, if not then qualify a new PQR (if intending to use process other than SAW), check client spec to know if any additional requirement for the repairs (PWHT etc...)

             NOTHING IS MENTIONED ABOUT WELD DEFECTS BURN THROUGH IN API 5L 44TH ADDITION FOR PSL2 PIPES.


 


I WANT TO NO IF BURN THROUGH DEFECTS COME BY SAW WELDING IT IS ACCEPTABLE OR REJECTABLE FOR PSL2 PIPES.
