[MW:12558] RE: 12547] RE: 12545] PWHT Requirement for SA 335 P91 (or P no. 5B Group 2)

Dear sir,

Irrespective of the Pressure ,temperature, thickness and usage conditions,  PWHT is made mandatory in our site

(client : NTPC, Manufacturer : DOOSAN)

Only proper PWHT Can ensure the required austenite structure which is primarily responsible for the characteristics of P91 Material.

Also type of heating : Resistance or induction is to selected carefully.

In our site upto 15mm resistance method and  above 15mm induction method is used.(refer attached model chart for P91 for reference)

Dear Sir,

From my understanding and experiences , P91 always need PWHT after weld for most of the cases.

If I am not wrong , now P91 should be classified to different P No. ( P15E ??? ) , please check from the most updated ASME IX.

Regards,

Dear experts!

Project : Solar Power Plant

Construction Code ASME B31.1

ASME Sec IX

PWHT Requirement - SA 335 P91 or P no. 5B Group 2 material is not included in 132 Para and Table of B31.1, and also,
