RE: [MW:22617] acceptance of unfill in ss pipe

Hi,

Perform FEA with the reduced wall thickness and check if there is any change in capacity.

Check what is the tolerance for wall thickness in relevant standard/specification and check if reduced wall thickness is within this tolerance.

If both points satisfy, issue a NCR with all details towards client for acceptance.

Best regards,

Subject: [MW:22499] acceptance of unfill in ss pipe

Dear friends,

I have inspected  ss pipe dia 200mm welded with a full penetation autogenous long seam weld, without use of filler metal made with GTAW.  I found 0.25mm underfill at longitudinal butt  joint.can you anybody tell what is the acceptance limit for underfill as per ASME section -III.

Thanks and regards,
