Weld must be in Inert Atmosphere till it cools down below to 250 degree celsius

What is important for Ti welding is the Cleanliness.  A dust free atmosphere, clean surface and consumables and the right parameters shall produce a good quality welding. A change of 5deg C temperature due to AC is not going to make any difference to weld quality but may add to welding machine operator's productivity.

Subject: Titanium tube welding and cooling time required

Dear Sir,

We have Titanium tube of Dia. 25*0.7 thk tubes for condenser. A titanium layer of 5mm upon the carbon steel plate on which these tubes were cut to surface size of 0.5 mm protruding, later expansion 5-6% of the 0.7 mm thk tube there by seal welding with orbital welding machine.

What i want to know is there any cooling time required for the tube to be welded and the heat dissipated on the main tube sheet requires any cooling by Air Conditioning or natural cooling. In the earlier projects of 9 units we have never used the AC but, in this project the QC asked to use AC.  I am worried of cracks and concern about using AC which immediately cools down the weld bead or titanium sheet resulting a cracks or repair.

kindly suggest me.
