Dear experts, I have a question. For circumferencial joint joining two thicknesses for a pressure vessel e.g. 8 mm and 10.5 mm what is maximum allowable offset ? As per uw 33 it comes out to be 2 mm .my question is it can not be tapered transition as the thk difference is less than 3 mm as per uw 9. Now if we match ID then the offset will be 2.5 mm and we can not taper the joints also. Please suggest.
