[MW:14089] RT on boiler tube partial replacement

Hi All,

Can anyone share your experience/feedback on tube boiler partial
renewal and NDE (RT)... subject boiler requires the replacement of
steam tubes, they are 3.5 inches diameter and tubes are apart between
each other 1 inch.

Question is whats the best way to perform RT and make full exam of the
new welds... access is possible from front and back at the moment, but
the sides have a little more difficult, fins are being cutted away, so
gamma source can be positioned on the side, and DWSI can be done, but
distance from source to the pipe is very close... is it good practice
to make it like this?

What other option can I have?, does any body came across this type of
repair?, what was the method/technic used?, any approved procedure?

Your assistance is very much appreciated. If you need any other data/
info please let me know, UT is dismissed for this case.

Thanks is advance,

Willis
