Respected experts ,
Happy Sunday to all.

A  48 " tubular having 25 mm thickness we made a single bevel butt joint.

The root & Hotpass  is welded with GTAW and fill up and capping is welded with SMAW.
My query is that,

Is back welding  is required or not . If required , please tell the procedure of back welding.
I mean to ask ,
1. which welding process should I use GTAW or SMAW for back welding. ?
2 . With back gouging or without  back gouging. ?
