Re: [MW:29346] S275JR

It is correct !, the Numbers P in ASME are based on the compatibility of the chemical and physical properties, "P" comes from Parents and under the ASME Code (Table QW-422) the identifications of the steels start with SA, for ASTM names begin with A.

A36 is almost equal to s275 jr, but no proof if documents except Aramco procedure.
If you need to follow sec ix, need new PQR.  s275jr cannot categorise in ASME sec ix.

S275JR material is not listed in ASME Section IX and it is superior that S235JR.
Hence you have to go for new PQR.

Gents,

I have some queries on Subject material ,What is equivalent to S275JR as per SEC IX ?
If it is un assigned material , We can weld WPS qualified already in S235JR to A-106 Grade B or we have to qualify new WPS ?

Saravanan
