[MW:29329] Re: S275JR

S275JR or any other material starting with S designation are part of structural steel and hence its remains unclassified as these materials doesn't qualify for the pressure vessels constructions, although we hope that these steel might be added to the AWS D1.1 in coming future. The material starting with P as stated by Pradip is however we can see in 2017 edition of the ASME section IX as they are pressure grade steel according to ISO material specification.

So you definitely need a new qualification according to ASME Section IX.
This combination is not even allowed according to ISO qualification according to ISO 15614-1 as Refering ISO 20172 which state the group for S275JR as 1.1 and according to ISO 20173  group for SA106 Gr B is 11.1.

Gents,

I have some queries on Subject material ,What is equivalent to S275JR as per SEC IX ?
If it is un assigned material , We can weld WPS qualified already in S235JR to A-106 Grade B or we have to qualify new WPS ?
