There are multiples way for the joining of aluminized or andoised steel only the process varies.

1. You can go for brazing and no need to remove the aluminium layer
2. If joining with GTAW, you need to pre-remove the AL layer in the welding areas.

With your question, I am not sure about the 
1. Coating thickness
2. Type of joint
3. Joint requirements or purpose of performing the welding
