kannayeram gnanapandithan is correct. To confirm it, make a 'MOCK UP' with some coupons and have the welder 'suck back' or in other words provide
selected concavity, selected no concavity, excessive penetration etc. Also have the welder provide an area with excessive root concavity and then weld a higher weld 'cap' at that area on the O.D. RT the weld mock ups and review the film to show
how this higher weld 'crown' will mask the root concavity on the RT film.
It is root cavity / suck back.
