Dear Sir,

HP & LP welders are a general classification of pipe welders regardless of construction code.
In combined cycle power plant projects in Bangkok and Myngyan (Myanmar) We 've Catagorised 6G Carbon steel pipe welders as LP and 6G low alloy Pipe welders as HP.

HP welders used to weld P11,P22,P91 pipes connecting boiler which require pre&post weld heat treatment . Mean time LP welders engaged in CS pipes carrying cooling water .
Above catagarisation used for fixing their wages also. HP will get more bucks than LP.

Since both are qualifying in 6G position, there is no question of position variation like 1G,4G etc.
1G,2G, 3G, 4G are plate welding , economicaly for this another group -structural welders - can be used if available.

Dear Atif,
HP Means, High-Pressure pipes and pipe materials alloy or low alloy steel
LP means, Low-Pressure pipes materials carbon steel. So you have to know pipe materials and according to materials you need to qualify welders.
