Re: [MW:29399] leak in pipeline

Article 3.6: Mechanical clamp repair. It is acceptable thing to do during running plant.

You can also try for injection clamps where material compatible to process fluid along with temperature is injected through mechanical clamp and it gets solidified. Works best for pinhole leaks.

I also suspect a minor crack in weld surface, as appears from photo.

Dear all,

We have the attached case. It´s about a B31.3 line with hot oil service.

There is a minimum leak in weld material. The material temperature service it´s about 470 °F.

We are considering repair this leak, but there a problem in get out of service this system which include a complete plant turn off.

So, i´d like to know which code can I use for this repair. I was considering ASME PCC-2, but in not sure about which section applies for this case.

Please if you can give me some references

Thanks in advance
