Hi,

It looks like Microbiological induced corrosion (MIC). Pl check for liquid analysis stored in the tank.

Subject: [MW:19312] Corrosion on Stainless Steel Vessel Weld

Dear Friends,

On a recent inspection of a Stainless Steel Vessel, there were some corrosive stains observed on near the weld.
Please refer to the pictures attached.
The stains indicate a leakage/flow behavior of the containment.
However, when observed visually there was no leakage of any liquid.

The vessel was in service since 2008.
Material of construction is Stainless Steel SS 316.

What could be the probable cause of this behavior?
Please share your views.

Regards,
Eswar Raju.
