Pls. refer Note 2 of Table 1 of ASTM A6M , that specified under thk. tolerance will be 0.254mm (i.e 0.01 ") .

 

If less thk is in localised area and your design thk. is less than 7.2 mm , then you may get concurrence of your client for the use of that material.

Code refers that if plate size with width 1200 to 1500mm having allowance 0.8mm with thickness 8mm either it is plus or minus,it is not mention in that table.
