As far as I am concerned,
Raise a non conformity based on client specification which require MPI on cut bevel , conduct a tool box talk for NDT technicians/QC personnel/ Execution personnel. If this happened because of execution department's push, then give NC to project manager or construction manager or construction Engineer (I don't know what would be your fate in your company after this:) Convince client by showing objective evidences to accept as it is and close the NC.If they are blowing smoke up your butt then do manual UT or TOFD to prove joint is free from planar defects. Anyhow, the ultimate aim is to ensure the joint is sound enough for the intended purpose and it is proved in your radiography report.Go ahead with Hydro, nothing gonna happen..

Limesh

Dear members,
By some oversight, MPI of one pipeline welds was not done on cut bevels. The PL section is now ready for hydrotest. Construction Code is API 1104 1999 Ed.
RT is acceptable. But this lapse is punchlisted. How do you resolve the issue?
Cutting and rewelding is not permitted.
Best regards,
Shashank Vagal
