[MW:3818] RE: 3816] simulation test coupon

Dear Prashant,

 

We need to check up the code of construction and MOC for, concluding the requirement of simulation test coupon.

 

Section VIII Div. 1 is quite liberal regarding requirement of test coupon. However, review your case with requirements of UCS – 85 ( h)

 

Section VIII Div 2 is more specific regarding the requirements of simulation test coupon.

 

Review your case with requirement of clause no. 3.10.2. – Provision of sample test coupon. (ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2)

We would like to have clarification on the requirement on the simulation test coupon under following cases

 

1.       When vessel is under PWHT, plates, pipes, flanges require simulation test coupon 

 

No

 

2.       Simulation test coupon is applicable only for normalising plus PWHT. ( UCS 85 requirements confusing)
