Dear Raghvendra,
SNT TC 1A is recommended practice for the employer for the qualification & Certification of their NDT personel.
CP 189 is ASNT standard.
Level III Requirement:
As per SNT TC 1A - Any person nominated by Employer can be LEVEL III for his company.
CP 189- ASNT NDT LEVEL III is must.
SNT TC is much liberal for the employer and employer can set the system suitable for him. But that will not be accepted by each and every client.
So better to follow CP189 for the NDT personnel qualification requirements. So at least one standardisation will be there and system will be more valuable when you are presenting to your Client.
Regards,
Nilesh Pathare.

I would like to know why you need two different documents (off course
one is a standard and the other is a recommended practice)
