[MW:917] HARDNESS REQUIREMENT FOR SA333GR6 PIPE

DEAR MEMBERS,

I AM SHAILESH WORKING AS A QA/QC INCHARGE CORE TEAM MEMBER ADGAS, DAS ISLAND. WE ARE WORKING HERE FOR THE FORTHCOMING MAJOR SHUTDOWN.

IN ONE OF THE REPAIR & RECOMANDATION I CAME ACROSS AN INTERESTING CASE.

ONE 20" Sch. 10 SYSTEM HAS COME UNDER SECTIONAL REPLACEMENT. MATERIAL IS SA333 GR.6 ERW PIPE. CLIENT IS ASKING FOR HARDNESS MAX. 200 BHN. ALSO THRE IS NO PWHT INVOLVED IN IT.  CLIENT HAS NOT CLARIFIED IF THIS HARDNESS IS AFTER WELDING OR AS RECEIVED MATERIAL. I HAVE REFERED THE ASME SEC. II PART A WHERE SA333 GR.6 DO NOT ASK FOR ANY HARDNESS.

I WANT TO KNOW FROM YOU MEMBERS WHAT IS THE HARDNESS OF SA 333 GR.6 IN AS RECEICED CONDITION. WHAT WOULD BE HARDNESS AFTER WELDING.

REGARDS,

SHAILESH

UAE - DAS ISLAND
