[MW:951] RE: 949] Re: 939] RE: 931] why CC2235-9 is not applicable for ASMESec.III

Dear Raghavendra

Since you are using CC2235, I have a doubt on Name plate marking as per UG116 for div 1 vessels. In case when a portion of the vessel RT’’ed as per UW11(a) and the remaining portion UT’ed per CC 2235 in lieu of RT, what will be the marking, is it RT-1?

Dear Rohit and Raghuram,

Thanks for the information related to Codes, standards and Specifications.

Our Organisation has obtained 'N' Stamp from ASME during last year and once the nuclear treaty is signed between India and USA, we have got bright chances to get orders for manufacture of Nuclear power related Equipments from abroad.

As we could successfully replace RT by UT as per CC2235 incase of Sec.VIII vessels, I want the same trend to continue in case of Sec.III of ASME as well, which are expected in future. But all nuclear new construction codes of ASME are strong believers in Radiography. I am looking for a hint to extend TOFD on nuclear new construction also.

That is why my query related to the same.

 Hope I could convey.

 regards,

Raghavendra
