Re: [MW:16047] DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ER70S-2 &ER70S-6

Dear all,

E means electrode.
R means it comes on a roll. Hence no R on some tig rod pkgs.
70 is for tensile strength kpsi
S means solid bare wire. T would be tubular for Flux Core.
X meaning whatever number it is stands for chemical composition. 2 is heavily deoxidized and is good for rusted steel, 6 is highest in Mn & Si and has better wetting action i.e. more fluid puddle. 5 is the one w/ Si, Mn & Al. 7 is all purpose

Regards,
Hareesh

Dear Members,

I would like to know difference between ER70S2 &ER70S6?
What does "2" and "6" mean in them and which welding process we use them?

Thankyou!
