Re: [MW:15999] Class-II used instead of Class I film

As per any construction code there is no restrictions on Film class as long as density & sensitivity requirements are fulfilled.

In order to save the cost & exposure time your sub-contractor might have used Class-II films.

In your case requirement is from proj. specification, shall be subjected to non-conformity. In order to satisfy client you need to show demonstration for proving required density & sensitivity are achieved by using both Class I & II Films for same joint and accept the joints with NCR.

Using class - II film instaed of class - I film need not be a reason for rejection, provided, if you have achieved the required density and sensitivity. Convince your client and do not repeat it in future.

Dear all,

Our RT subcontractor used by mistakes Class-II (kodak)film instead of class-I (Kodak)

Pipe Materials : 8" API 5L GrB  thk : 8.18mm. No of Joints : 35 Joints.

As per Spec : Class-I required for thickness less than 12.7mm.

Client rejects all RT films.

Any possible solution?

regards,
mohd.
