Hi,

Can we accept the welders as per RT qualification?. If mechanical test omitted will be it violation of B31.8?.

Because it is a repeated work, pipeline standards ask for DT and it is a right thing to do.
It is highly recommended to follow this method of qualification.
RT is not as effective as DT for screening good welders in pipeline projects.
