We have always seen that many of group members dedicate their valuable time and energy to read and answer all kinds of questions, regardless of their origin or difficulty which is a sign of their high ethical standards and dedication.However, there are times when we see very basic and simple questions are been asked which shows that the individual has not bothered to put minimum effort in searching for answers which are already available on the same platform that he/she uses to communicate with the group. There are lots of examples for this which is not a good sign.The first thing to understand is that it is normal, and even essential, to ask questions when learning about a new subject. Online forums exist specifically to help tapping efficiently into the knowledge of other people and to learn to solve problems faster. But the second thing to know is that, before posting question on a technical forum, we are expected to try a few things on our own. Keep in mind that our ultimate goal is not really to ask a question, but rather to find a solution to our problem. Using an existing answer is always faster than asking a new question. Even if searching on Google does not produce an immediate answer, showing that we have done our part will make other people more inclined to help us. Indeed, people are much more likely to help if we show them that we have already tried a few avenues ourselves.Many look at Google as a source of information while it is merely a search engine; a tool to find information. The validity of information has nothing to do with google and whoever thinks that online information is not reliable should begin improving his/her searching skills. My personal experience with google made me realize that most of the time, it is lack of such skills which keeps me from finding quality information online, I was very frustrated and had no choice other than to improve my online search skills which paid off very well.In many sources (after primary search on google), there is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section which should definitely be read. As the name implies, the FAQ sections list questions that come up frequently, so the question may be answered in there. If you still are without an answer, you clearly need to post a question. Another important point is to search the group history to see if the question has already been asked and answered, as is often the case.There are also other ethical issues which it might not be the proper time to address them all but in order to improve the quality of our great "Materials-Welding" group which feels like home to all of us, I humbly request that esteemed members of our group respect following universally accepted "Rules of Etiquette" in their communication:
- While this might sound very basic: Being critical about the ways of asking questions and making requests (e.g. I need ASME XXX immediately)
- Not posting off-topic questions (e.g. Is the Valve closer test means sheet leak test or body pneumatic test...?)
- Not posting homework questions (e.g. I need a WPS for welding A to B)
- This one is also very basic: Trying to use correct grammar and vocabulary (This is an indication of our level of respect for the group)

i hope in this group answer is based on their experience not theortical .
many Ai and Ais in this group they response more than code knowledge which is very useful to clear any doubts and obviously in fabrication experience required not theoritical ..so dont stop anyone to raise question.we all have a option to repky or not ? and everything google dont answer? i have lot of question in which we cant follow google answer in inspection and shop floor for which experience holder experience required.
