Really Sir, very precise. Thank you so much.

Per Table UCD-56-4 of Section VIII, Division 1 of the ASME BPVC (for ASME P-No. 4 steels):

1.       For butt welds in pressure barriers, PWHT is required for thicknesses greater than 5/8-inch (16-mm)

2.       For non-pressure attachment fillet welds, PWHT is required for thicknesses greater than 1/2-inch (13-mm)

Per Table 132.2 of ASME B31.1 (for ASME P-No. 4 steels):

1.       For butt, groove, & socket welds in pressure barriers, PWHT is required for pipe thicknesses greater than 5/8-inch (16-mm)

2.       For non-pressure attachment fillet welds, PWHT is required for pipe thicknesses greater than 5/8-inch and fillet throat thicknesses greater than 1/2-inch (13-mm)

Per Table 132.2 of ASME B31.3 (for ASME P-No. 4 steels):

1.       For butt, groove, & socket welds in pressure barriers, PWHT is required for pipe thicknesses greater than 5/8-inch (16-mm)

As per my knowledege alloy materials of grade P11 & P12 doesnt require pwht if thickness is less than 13mm.

Sir,

With proper approvals and procedure you can go for local PWHT.

Dears,

We have ordered fired heater in which coil material is SA335 P11. Coil size is 6" x SCH 40 (i.e. 6.625" OD x 0.28" THK). These coils are PWHT'd. Issue is, our vendor forgot to weld the thermocouple RF pads on the coil before PWHT. What needs to be done further if we weld the RF Pads on the already PWHT'd coils? Do we need to do PWHT again for that particular joint?
