Re: [MW:27026] Hydrogen level

Just to add, the sources of Hydrogen are Moisture, carbanaceous materials like Grease etc.. & Paint. The source of H2 in the shielding gas is moisture condensation which will not be a problem with welding grade purity Argon.

Normally for CO2 shielding gas for FCAW welding, a Heater can be fitted to the Gas cyclinder along with the Regulator and Flow meter.

Argon used in purging gas shouldn't be a problem as the gas will be heated up due to welding Heat.

I haven't comes across Hydrogen problems in GTAW welding.

Dear Experts,

Could you please tell, how can ensure no hydrogen is is the backing or Shielding gas??
if use Argon gas 99.997% during welding.
