Re: [MW:22769] can we prepare new PQR with ASME and AWS and EN standard?...

Good analysis. Thnks for sharing. Agree that there is no question of stringent between stds. Each has some basis and needs to be complied

Hi,

Prepare the Gap analysis covering all the essential & non-essential parameters. Highlight the difference as stated in below emails.

It is not recommended to say which code is more stringent than the other. Please be specific with your application and type of testing the weld joint requires for particular operating and design temperature and load.

Consider the attached files as reference for preparing Gap analysis. This is prepared for "Norsok M101 against AWS D1.1". (Note: Norsok M101 is application guidelines, based on EN 15614-1.)

EN 15614 is more stringent followed by ASME and AWS in order.

Type and no. tests depend up on material thickness and other

variable parameters.

Towards AWS, you can  use ASME  PQR as a pre approved document also.

But, U could be more specific .

Dear Abdul Ghani,

Make a list of all essential variables, testing requirements and acceptance criteria, check whether single testing can be done? if not you may have to create multiple samples (make sure you weld a coupon big enough). now weld the coupon as per required size and test according to multiple code/standard requirements and prepare multiple Records. Good Luck.

Please update the forum about the results.

Expect the experts to comments.
