[MW:22752] Combining PQR to make new PQR - Help in understanding the concept

Hello Dear Members,

I have learnt about combining various PQR today in a basics of welding class. I was refering to ASME Section IX to check my understanding, I have a bit of confusion and your help would be appreciated.

(all the scenarios are imaginary as I just want to understand the concept)

1. PQR1 - 15mm welded completely with GTAW
2. PQR2 - 20mm welded completed with SMAW

According to the table QW-451.1

PQR 1 will be qualified for - 5mm to 30mm  GTAW &
PQR 2 will be qualified for - 5mm to 40mm  SMAW

So can I have qualified PQR of base metal thickness of 70 mm (30mm GTAW + 40mm SMAW)? If not, then what is the maximum basemetal thickness I can weld combining these two PQRs?

Thanks,
Suhel.
