Hellow
As per ASME B16.20, for ring gasket material, Soft iron gasket as well as other materials are mentioned, see below table from ASME B16.20
there are some parameters should be specified for testing soft iron and stainless steel in a symbol as below:
HBW Ball diameter/F/Dwell time
considering Ring Type Joint Thickness the ball diameter should be 10mm since the ball diameter should be as large as possible. is this correct?
Normal dwell time is between 10 to 15 sec and it seems to be a good choice for R.T.J hardness testing.
but my major question is about "F" parameter which should be specified in relation with D, F/d and material.
in order to that please inform me what is the best choice for "F" to test HARDNESS of soft iron(D) and stainless steel(ss) R.T.J ?
HBW 10/3000/15 LOOKS TO BE GREAT FOR SS???
what about SOFT IRON MATERIAL?
LET ME KNOW about that...
