I think  you are asking about cold bending operation, and welding of joints between two bend sections, it is allowed as,"extremities of each joint remain straight over a minimum distance of 2 m or twice the pipe diameter, whichever is greater" . this is referred from SP 1208 Pipeline Construction specification (PDO Specfication).
