Actually we had constructed  storage tank of  MOLTEN NAPHTHALENE . so we need to Tie in with existing napthalene pipe line and for jacketing of SS pipe line coming from napthalene tank .

In gneral if you want to use the splilt tee for hottap/tie-in purpose you need to split in horizondal portion of the tee.

Moreover, if your want to use the spilt tee over the pipe you cann't able fit it properly due to ID of the tee will not match with OD of the pipe and also you will find gap between halfs after fit-up.

 

Welding & NDT:

 

In case of welding Spilt tee over the pipe, it will be welded with backing strips.

 

Root/first pass - DPI

Final - MPI

Test - Hydrotest of stub.
