Re: [MW:19113] Change in Supplementary Essential Need re-qualification?

Hi Ezat ,

Change of Group No. is a Supplementary Essential Variable as per ASME-IX , that is , if impact test exists in your vessel.

1) If you have PQR with impact test condition for P No.8 Gr. No.1 qualified, then you have to use same P No.8 Gr. No.1 only for impact

     test vessels.

2) If your vessel does not have impact test , then you can revise the WPS with P No.8 Gr. No. 1 & 2, without Supplementary Essential

Variable with the same impact tested PQR.

In your case, you cannot use your WPS & PQR to weld P No.8 Gr. No.2 for impact test vessels, so you have to qualify a new PQR.

Hope you are clarified.

Dear Experts,

i need your clarify that the changes in material group number with the
same p number need another welding qualification or not.

my case i have WPS for A312  grade TP 316, P no. 8 , group no. 1 to itself.
it's right to use it to weld  A312  grade TP 310s, P no. 8 , group no.
2 to itself.
