[MW:19069] RE: 19058] What Is Carbon Steel A105 Grade 2

A/SA-105 does not have any class or grade break down.  However, A/SA-105 references A/SA-266, Specification for Carbon Steel Forgings for Pressure Vessel Components, which has four grades.  You would have to enquire from your client, but I think it is possible that the intent was for the forgings to meet 266 grade 2 properties.

Subject: [MW:19058] What Is Carbon Steel A105 Grade 2

Dear Expert,

A client of mine has specified Class 150 carbon steel flanges as per ASTM A105 Grade 2. Does anyone know the composition and material characteristics of "Grade 2". I do not see any reference to Grade 2 in the latest (2010) version of ASTM A105 standard.

Any reference to direction would be most appreciated.

Best Regards
